Thank you for coming. We hope you’ll stay awhile and enjoy a piece of rural America. Most of it will be gone soon. It’s a magical place of sea, marsh and sea islanders. It’s a place of farmers and migrant workers, of golfers, boaters and tourists, of middle America, and certainly most of all the home of a culture long undisturbed – an African culture whose roots reach back to a similar geography across the sea. What once was rural will soon vanish in the midst of progress.
